David Freeman Historical and Archaeological Interpreter

I have been working in the archaeological world since 1979. This has taken many forms during this period. Following my work as a volunteer for 18 months, in 1981/2 I was employed full time at Butser Ancient Farm, Hampshire, where I was involved with the reconstructions, experiments and public demonstrations of skills.

I now work as a freelance interpreter, specialising in the Iron Age/Celtic/ Romano-British period. I undertake work on various sites (Peat Moors Centre - Somerset, Butser Ancient farm - Hampshire) and museums across the south of England, giving lectures, living history displays and site tours for schools, societies and adult groups. I also teach ancient tecnologies, and run practical courses.
