4. Speaking with Horus

Tomb of Septah. Reigned B.C.1215-1209.

The king is here represented in his ceremonial dress consisting of a tight kilt, over which is worn the elaborate sacred robe, loose with large sleeves. The crown on his head resembles the crown of Osiris. King Septah is shown here addressing Harmakis, "Horus of the Two Horizons", who is more especially the rising sun, and is always depicted with a hawk head, and usually with disk and uraeus. The sun disc is seen above the heads of god and king, with outstretched wings.
